Job Summary

The Commercial Strategy and Insights Manager will be a part of a rapidly growing Commercial Operations group and will serve as a leader within the group, and across the organization. The successful candidate will work with key leaders across the organization to integrate insights and analytics into all facets of business planning and impact analysis. This is a pivotal and critical role within Medpace’s growing spotlight on data and analytic capabilities and will lead a growing Commercial Strategy and Insights team. 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as focal point integrating insights and analytics (forecasting, business intelligence, and integrated analytics) for Medpace Commercial Operations and translating into business impact across all business units. 
  • Provide strategic oversight and guidance to business planning and forecasting. 
  • Ensure seamless integration of analytics across the organization, as well as identifying and leveraging third party data sources to augment analysis. 
  • Identify and develop key metrics to measure and monitor performance through dashboards. Partner across business functions and business units to evangelize a data driven and value centric company culture. 
  • Guide the Commercial Insights & Strategy team to focus on key business questions and to frame business problems into actionable analysis plans. 
  • Routinely provide integrated insights that drive operations and sales efforts. 
  • Apply and help others on the team utilize basic consulting skills, including consultative listening, problem definition, hypothesis generation, data analysis, translation to value, and oral and written presentation for impact. 
  • Determine optimal analytic approaches in the context of resources, timing and overall project goals. 
  • Champion the development and implementation of research and analytics approaches and methods that are innovative and examples of industry best practices. 
  • Responsible for ensuring the Commercial Insights & Strategy team is focused on key business needs for the Medpace enterprise, and well as individual business units and functional areas. 
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership courage in order to set boundaries and ensure time is spent on the most critical/ high value projects. 
  • Stay current in emerging industry trends and assess their potential impact on Medpace and business unit strategies. 
  • Inspire and empower team to act with speed, agility and accountability enabling them to achieve excellence. 
  • Cultivate meaningful internal partnerships, adding value and insights for the organization; being insight driven to uncover important unmet needs. 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required. 
  • Advanced degree desirable. 
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant business experience in marketing, finance, or business analytics, strategic planning, or management consulting required. 
  • Diversity of experience is preferred, with demonstrated learning agility in order to be able to quickly learn and adapt across various business functions. 
  • Business/market experience and industry knowledge to influence company/business unit level decisions and strategies are required. 
  • A minimum of 2 years of people management experience is required in addition to a proven track record with talent development and empowering an accountable team. 
  • General management mindset, business acumen, strategic thinking required. 
  • Proven analytical skills and learning agility in order to coach and train colleagues across multiple functions required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate and leverage insights and analytics required. 
  • Experience in developing comprehensive and impactful recommendations and solutions that drive key decisions required.
